The Advisory Committee has worked with the SCoPEx Research Team to conduct a review of the project’s funding sources to ensure transparency and public disclosure of all funding information. Based on this Advisory Committee’s review, the AC determined that all funding sources are publicly disclosed and did not contain conflicts of interest. The Committee recommends that the financial review be updated regularly over the course of the project.
To ensure that others can hopefully learn from this project, a substantial portion of the process took place in writing. You are therefore welcome to read the questions and follow-up inquiries we posed to the SCoPEx team and Harvard’s Solar Geoengineering Research Program below, as well as their detailed responses, which include information about their funding sources and fundraising principles. We will update you as we continue to work with the Research Team on this ongoing process. We hope this information helps the public understand the financial review process and can provide guidance for assessing funding for future solar geoengineering projects.
